College football Week 9: Top 25 TV schedule and predictions
By John Buhler
The college football season rolls along into Week 9 with several exciting games.
College football gives us several spooktacular games this Halloween in Week 9.
While it stinks having the Wisconsin Badgers’ game vs. the Nebraska Cornhuskers canceled due to a COVID outbreak in Madison, at least the other games of note are still going down in the Big Ten. This was bound to happen once the league decided to return with no margin for error. For now, we’ll appreciate every college football game we get the rest of the way. Who is playing this week?

Bold indicates the projected Week 9 winner.
I’m not as bold as I was last week, but I do have one ranked team going down to an inferior opponent in the early-afternoon window. Neal Brown’s West Virginia Mountaineers should have won in Lubbock last week but handed a victory over to the Texas Tech Red Raiders. They win a good, old-fashioned shootout over the Kansas State Wildcats to wreck K-State’s season.
Though there are only a few games of note in the mid-afternoon window, if a team is going to lose in that time slot, it will be the Indiana Hoosiers. Being ranked is uncharted territory for Tom Allen’s team. They will be riding high after stunning the Penn State Nittany Lions last week in Bloomington. Don’t be shocked if Greg Schiano’s Rutgers Scarlet Knights get to 2-0 on Saturday.
If there is going to be an upset in the primetime window, it will be the Arkansas Razorbacks over the Texas A&M Aggies. We think the Aggies are one of the four best teams in the SEC. While that may be true, who is fifth? Some might argue it’s the Auburn Tigers, but anybody who has watched Sam Pittman’s team this year won’t have much of an issue if it is indeed the Hogs at some point.
