The Ravens and Bills are among the teams on upset alert in Week 8.

It has been a bit of a bumpy ride but the NFL is approaching the halfway point of the regular season on pace to complete all 256 games. That is a nice accomplishment, one that is more meaningful for the top teams who are able to avoid getting upset.

That task isn’t always easy (just ask the Patriots, who we put on upset alert last week before they got blown out by the San Francisco 49ers), making it more impressive for teams who can maintain their focus week in and week out. The schedule provides another three upset opportunities in Week 8 which we will spotlight here. All lines, as always, are courtesy of the FanDuel Sportsbook.

The Baltimore Ravens should be on upset alert against the Steelers

The best matchup of Week 8 is the battle for AFC North supremacy between the 5-1 Baltimore Ravens and 6-0 Pittsburgh Steelers. The Ravens were off in Week 7 and had extra time to prepare for the contest, which explains why oddsmakers have had them open as 5.5 point favorites.

Home field is also helpful here but it is worth mentioning that the Ravens’ offense hasn’t truly clicked on all cylinders yet this season. Lamar Jackson has made enough plays to help Baltimore pick up five wins but the offense will face a stiff test against the Steelers’ elite defense.

This rivalry always tends to lead towards nasty physical games that end up being very close in the fourth quarter. That recipe would lead to big upset potential for the Steelers so Baltimore needs to tread carefully against their archrivals.
