Teddy Bridgewater was taken out by a dirty hit, and Twitter was not happy about it.

Carolina Panthers fans will be hoping to see Teddy Bridgewater walk away alright. No, strike that, any fan of the NFL is hoping for a positive result following Thursday’s outing.

During the third quarter, Bridgewater would take a chance run forward for the first down. Trying to go down, Atlanta Falcons linebacker Dante Fowler Jr. would deliver a strike towards his leg forcing a trip. As Bridgewater fell to the ground, defensive end Charles Harris would go late, knocking him in the neck well after the play should have ended.

Needless to say, Twitter was right there ready to talk of the incident.

Twitter weighs in on the hit against Bridgewater

Immediately, people were there to call out the hit.

Then, people rushed to Bridgewater’s side against Harris’ late tackle

Of course, people were going to show the video as much as possible.

Even players weighed in on the hit, siding with Bridgewater being down.

However, it seems like Bridgewater is fine and could return to action sooner than excepted.

Bridgwater has been one of the biggest surprises of the 2020 season as the new gunslinger for the Panthers. Through six games of play, the former Vikings and Saints quarterback has thrown for 1,950 yards, eight touchdowns and five interceptions.  Prior to the injury, Bridgewater was 10-of-15 for 175 yards and touchdown.
