8. La’Mical Perine (NYJ)

Game: New York Jets at Kansas City Chiefs (Sunday, 11/1, 1:00 pm EST)

The Jets are 20-point underdogs, which should cause an audile laugh-out-loud. They’re not likely to establish the run, but that is ok. That means that Frank Gore will be called on less frequently and perhaps a pass-catching tailback will be needed. Perine catches the football with more ease than Gore.

Don’t expect Christian McCaffrey-type stuff from Perine, but he’s a serviceable fill-in for your other players that are probably on bye weeks.

9. Justin Jackson (LAC)

Game: Los Angeles Chargers at Denver Broncos (Sunday, 11/1, 4:25 pm EST)

Starting Jackson is risky because the Broncos are one of the best teams in the business for thwarting running backs. We don’t care. The Chargers offense is ticking behind rookie Justin Herbert.

Austin Ekeler is still out, and we hereby choose Jackson to tabulate 10-15 points for your fantasy team in Week 8.

10. D’Andre Swift (DET)

Game: Indianapolis Colts at Detroit Lions (Sunday, 11/1, 1:00 pm EST)

Each week, we see breadcrumbs of Swift taking over the RB1 job from Adrian Peterson. So, the Lions are getting closer to finding a bonafide starting running back, something they have not possessed in a very long time.

The Colts defense is spectacular, but this game might be a tight affair. In close games, the football is handed to running backs. Swift is a playmaker, and he will make a couple of those against Indianapolis.
