Just crown Ohio State football as the Big Ten champs already

Ohio State handled Penn State and it doesn’t look like anyone else will challenge them for the Big Ten Championship.

Penn State was no match for Ohio State on Saturday night as the Buckeyes prevailed 38-25 at Beaver Stadium.

Finding someone in the Big Ten who could be is becoming more and more of a challenge.

At this rate, the Buckeyes will walk to a fourth-straight Big Ten title.

Ohio State has essentially no competition for the Big Ten title

The only undefeated teams left in the Big Ten include Indiana, Purdue, Wisconsin and Northwestern.

Wisconsin is the only real contender, but they’ve already had to cancel a game because of the COVID-19 outbreak in their program. Even if they are able to play next week, they’re probably going to have to do so without their star freshman quarterback because of coronavirus protocols. Moreover, they won’t face the Badgers, or Purdue or Northwestern, outside the Big Ten Championship Game.

As for the rest, it’s extremely unlikely they’ll make it through their schedules unscathed. Ohio State will have to deal with Indiana, but they get them at home.

Penn State was supposed to be one of the toughest tests for the Buckeyes and they handled the Nittany Lions relatively easily.

The regular-season finale against Michigan is the next real threat. However, the Wolverines haven’t beaten Ohio State in eight years. Jim Harbaugh hasn’t been able to get that monkey off his back and this year’s team doesn’t look particularly like doing it either. They were just upset by Michigan State.

Essentially, the biggest obstacle Ohio State may face this year is themselves. If they can stay healthy and free from any major COVID-19 problems,
