Joe Tessitore calls heartwarming moment involving his son in Boston College-Clemson game (Video)
Joe Tessitore was able to call a great play made by his son in the Boston College vs. Clemson game Saturday afternoon.
Joe Tessitore is back announcing college football games after being booted from his Monday Night Football gig. He seems to be enjoying himself just fine and Saturday provided him with a true moment of joy in the booth.
Tessitore’s son, John, is the kicker at Boston College. His team is taking on mighty Clemson and the kicker was called upon to attempt a fake field goal. He got Clemson to jump offsides and his dad got to announce the entire thing.
Dad calling the moment with his son is the call of the day
This was a great job by the younger Tessitore as he was able to draw this elite defense offside. He got right up to the line and his dad could not hold back his praise for such a great play.
It would have been easy for the broadcaster to offer up more of an actual cheer, but being the professional he is he held back.
Tessitore has taken a lot of heat at ESPN, so it is nice to see him have this heartwarming moment. He also made a great call on what was a huge play for Boston College.
