Greg Zuerlein nearly achieved god status with this ridiculous made field goal try.

This is the latest example of why Greg Zuerlein is a living legend among mere mortals.

With a nickname only reserved for him, Greg the Leg booted a 59-yard field goal through the uprights at Lincoln Financial Field shortly before halftime. His Dallas Cowboys are trotting out there a third-string quarterback in Ben DiNucci. With next to no offense, Zuerlein took it upon himself to give his team a riveting 9-7 heading into halftime with this saucy knuckler.

There will never be another Greg the Leg in the history of kicking field goals

Sure, there are hall of fame kickers out there like Jan Stenerud and Morten Andersen and whatnot, but when people think of what it means to be a champion among kickers, they only need to think about Greg the Leg. Yeah, Adam Vinatieri was really cool with the New England Patriots back in the day, but that was over a decade ago and Greg the Leg just did this. I’m just saying…

If he can connect on three more field goals in the second half, “America’s Team” might get the most improbable victory of the season. DiNucci is not Carson Wentz, but Carson Wentz isn’t playing like Carson Wentz. It’s going to come down to defend and special teams. While the Cowboys defense could let us down, Zuerlein never will because he’s America’s hero.

Zuerlein has earned the right to put a statue outside of the Linc wherever he wants it to go.
