Minkah Fitzpatrick was thrilled to escape Baltimore with a win

The Steelers completed a second-half comeback to advance to 7-0 on the season, defeating their rival Baltimore Ravens to solidify their place as AFC North favorites. With the win, the Steelers made another statement as to where they rank among the league’s elite. They’re still the last undefeated team in the NFL, and the ’72 Dolphins need to keep the champagne in the fridge another week at least.

Ben Roethlisberger came alive in the second half, leading the Steelers on multiple late-game drives, the last of which gave Pittsburgh a lead they wouldn’t relinquish. That feat is thanks to Minkah Fitzpatrick, who just barely broke up a pass to Willie Snead in the waning moments.

Lamar Jackson’s pass was nearly perfect, but there wasn’t much of a chance he was going to complete a throw in between three Steelers defenders as time expired.

After the win, Minkah waved goodbye to the Ravens, mocking them on his way off the field. After such a huge win, we can’t say we blame him.

Goodbye, indeed.

The question of which team is the best in the AFC — the Steelers or Chiefs — might not be answered until the postseason, as these two loaded squads don’t play in the regular season. For now, though, we can imagine an ideal AFC Championship matchup (not ideal for Ravens fans, of course) in which Patrick Mahomes has to beat this stout Steelers defense on a regular basis.

Fitzpatrick has the last laugh for now, but the rematch on Thanksgiving night will be must-see TV for any NFL fan.
