Gold Glove winners are being announced Tuesday night and a few big names are headlining this year’s winners.

Tuesday night is Election Night and also a night for Rawlings to announce the 2020 Gold Glove winners.

The defensive award results are pouring in and a few star players are headlining this year’s class of winners.

Stars among the Gold Glove winners

Anthony Rizzo takes home the honors at first base in the National League and is joined by some other notable names.

That is quite the stacked infield and the talent gets even better in the outfield.

Mookie Betts went over to the NL and not only won a World Series but also took home an award for his amazing play on defense. That was on display throughout the postseason and this should not come as a surprise.

The talent remains real in the American League as well, and a few first-time winners are featured in the results.

The Seattle Mariners are represented well with two winners in Evan White and J.P. Crawford. The latter won the award at shortstop over Carlos Correa, which raised a few eyebrows.

The AL features some more intriguing results and some players may come as a shock to more casual fans. One notable name is the outfield is Joey Gallo, who was surprisingly not moved at the trade deadline this past season. He is part of a Texas Rangers squad that also has two winners and is primed to make a run in 2021.

The Cleveland Indians are yet another team with two winners as Roberto Perez takes home the award at catcher. Like Perez, the National League winner was behind the plate for a Cy Young favorite in 2020.

A 60-game regular season provided plenty of challenges with evaluating top talent in the league. However, these winners deserve their awards as they played their best under the given circumstances. A Gold Glove can also mean higher salaries, so none of the winners is going to care if certain people want to put asterisks next to these awards.
