The NFL just hit both JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Conner with $5,000 fines and there’s no question fans are going to be furious over it.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are on top of the world right now. Over the weekend, the team improved to a perfect 7-0 following a convincing win on the road against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. Yet, leave it to the NFL to try and provide some rain for the parade.

On Tuesday, it was announced that both star running back James Connor and wide recever JuJu Smith-Schuster have been fined $5,000 for a uniform policy violation. So, what did the two do? Apparently, they messed it up in the socks department.

The NFL fining James Connor and JuJu Smith-Schuster over a socks mishap is a joke

Apparently, per the NFL rules, both Pittsburgh players were in violation of the rulebook because their socks were not covering their legs. And despite the current economy we’re living in, the league think it’s appropriate to fine the two standouts $5,000 for their mistake.

How in the world is this even real? While $5,000 is chump change for both Conner and Smith-Schuster, that’s not the point. This fine is completely absurd and maddening. Fortunately for Pittsburgh, they’re the only undefeated team left standing in the NFL, so they’re not going to let something like a socks fine break their confidence.

A statement was surely made in the win over the Ravens, as Jackson struggled to look like his usual self against Pittsburgh’s outstanding defense. The confidence is incredibly high for Mike Tomlin’s men, as they’re looking like a serious contender to win the Super Bowl this winter.

Keep your eyes out for this group the rest of the way. Oh, and let’s hope Conner and Smith-Schuster don’t receive any other ridiculous fines either.

Next. We need to look at the Steelers as Super Bowl favorites. dark
