New fantasy stars are emerging from an exciting crop of young wideouts.

It used to be accepted convention that wide receivers needed time to find their feet as they made the transition from college to the pros. Not so in the modern NFL, with a host of young wideouts consistently making a name for themselves early in their careers and becoming fantasy football standouts.

The 2020 season has seen one such receiver make the leap after an encouraging rookie campaign to become a near-unstoppable force for the Seattle Seahawks, silencing those who cast doubt on his ability to succeed in the league following a below-par performance in some of his drills at the Combine.

A couple more second-year pass-catchers are enjoying ascensions, with a Philadelphia Eagles standout continuing to author one of the more surprising breakout campaigns of recent memory.

Meanwhile, a pair of rookies from a class of receivers considered among the best ever have hit the ground running and already carry fantasy value. Though team success looks set to elude them in 2020, they each play on offenses that should be extremely productive in the years to come and are likely be targeted much higher in fantasy drafts from 2021 onwards.

In this week’s edition of stars and studs, we focus on the receiver position by taking a look at some of the top performances from Week 8 from five ascending wideouts and analyze what their play this season means from a fantasy perspective.
