2021 NFL Mock Draft: Miami Dolphins protect Tua Tagovailoa
By Brad Weiss
The 2020 NFL season wrapped up Week 8 on Monday night, and as we inch towards the halfway point of the season, here is our latest mock draft.
With Week 8 of the 2020 NFL season in the books, teams are starting to show whether or not they are legitimate playoff contenders. For the New York Jets and Giants, this has been a forgettable season, but hope is on the horizon.
Here is our latest 2021 NFL Mock Draft.
The New York Jets still have yet to put one in the win column, and the fan base is calling for head coach Adam Gase to lose his job. If that does happen, the franchise may want to hit the reset button altogether, and if they do not trade out of the No.1 spot, that means Trevor Lawrence will replace Sam Darnold as the franchise quarterback.
Having both the Jets and Giants sitting at No. 1 and No. 2 in the 2021 NFL Draft is an embarrassment for those who play their games inside MetLife Stadium. Lawrence would help not only bring excitement back to the Jets, but he is a proven winner, and is one of those quarterbacks who comes along one in a long while.
The New York Giants could certainly use the No. 2 overall pick on Justin Fields, the second-best quarterback in this draft class, and a kid who has star written all over him. However, if they do decide to continue to trot out Daniel Jones, then they have to use this pick on the defensive side of the ball, and they get a good one here.
Micah Parsons is sitting out the 2020 college football season, so he will be ready to go for whichever team is lucky to get him. He is an elite linebacker prospect that can help this Giants defense immediately, and watching this team over the past two seasons, their defense is absolutely sorry.
The Jacksonville Jaguars will choose between Jake Luton and Mike Glennon to replace Gardner Minshew this weekend against the Houston Texans. That should tell you all you need to know about the Jaguars quarterback situation, one they could upgrade in a big way with Justin Fields in 2021.
Fields is the second-best quarterback in this draft class, and had Trevor Lawrence not been such a can’t-miss guy, he would likely be the No. 1 overall pick. Fields can make plays happen with his arm, and his legs, and in Jacksonville, he would blossom into a star.
