The election, as far as we know, has come to a conclusion and the sports world reacted thusly.

Joe Biden will be the 46th President of the United States after reaching the 270 electorates necessary to defeat Donald Trump in the 2020 election, per the Associated Press.

Trump may contest the result in the court system, but for now, the sports world reacted to what will surely be the biggest news of the weekend, regardless of what team you root for.

For the last four years, athletes have been butting heads with Trump over his incorrect assumption that they should stick to their profession, rather than commenting on social issues and politics.

All three of these posts reflect clear opposition to Trump, who in the past four years has butted heads with James, including suggesting he should shut up and dribble along with TV host Laura Ingraham.

James played a major role in the African-American voter turnout this year, specifically in his ‘More Than a Vote’ foundation. LeBron has long been outspoken on American social issues, and the last four years have amplified that effort.

James had been vocal in his support for Biden during the campaign, and more so during the election process. LeBron was by no means the only athlete to voice their opinion of Trump over the last few weeks, and it’s expected to continue as the transition is unfortunately played out in a less-than-classy way.
