As you might expect, the Notre Dame football players were going nuts after they took down No. 1 Clemson in South Bend.

The celebrations most likely have not stopped one bit over in South Bend after No. 4 Notre Dame pulled off a brilliant upset over No. 1 Clemson. In what turned out to be inarguably one of the best games of the year, the Fighting Irish got the job done and made a monster statement.

How much did this win mean to the program? As soon as the players and coaches made their way back to the locker rooms, the festivities were downright electric. Can you blame everyone for feeling this good? Absolutely not.

The Notre Dame players went absolutely wild in the locker room after upsetting No. 1 Clemson

If you’re a Notre Dame fan, you have to absolutely love the jubilation the players showcased after coming away with the huge 47-40 victory. In the big-time win, Ian Book threw for 310 yards and one touchdown, while Kyren Williams put on a show running the ball, rushing for 140 yards and three scores.

As for Clemson, they fought valiantly without starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence in action again, but they ran out of magic late and suffered the 2OT heartbreaker. In the loss, DJ Uiagalelei tossed for a mind-blowing 439 yards and two scores. Not bad for a true freshman making only his second-career start.

With the heart-stopping victory, Notre Dame is now 7-0 on the year and is the favorite to win the ACC championship. Perhaps even more importantly, the win did wonders for their College Football Playoff hopes. With the way they’ve been playing this campaign, something tells us this won’t be the last time we see the players dancing their heads off after a huge victory.
