DraftKings golf picks, The Masters: Best DFS lineup for Augusta
DraftKings Masters picks: $9,000 range
Xander Schauffele ($9,800) – While Schauffele doesn’t have a major win to his credit yet, he’s finished in the top five of all of the American majors, including T2 at The Masters last season. He’s a big-game hunter who shines in this type of event and could pay off this price. The big question is if he’ll be a winner pick.
Brooks Koepka ($9,700) – On one hand, we saw Brooks Koepka seemingly get into major form last week as he emerged on the Houston Open leaderboard. On the other hand, his iron play has still been a bit shaky and his game isn’t where it was last season. He has to be considered given his track record but he’s probably someone I’m fading this week.
Patrick Cantlay ($9,600) – Cantlay at his best could be an extreme value at this price but his recent form isn’t indicative of that. He won at the ZOZO but that was the last time he played and he’d been a bit all over the map otherwise. I’m not sure I’m banking my DraftKings lineup on him this week.
Collin Morikawa ($9,500) – How the first-timers at Augusta play is going to be fascinating and Morikawa fits right into that. His ball-striking and iron play do lend themselves to a great fit but the lack of experience and overall distance don’t fully play to his strengths. Still, his irons make him worth consideration.
Tyrell Hatton ($9,400) – Oustide of DJ, there might not be a hotter golfer in the world right now than Tyrell Hatton. The guy is just playing well every time out — save for the PGA Championship and U.S. Open where he missed the cut. Does that luck continue at Augusta? I doubt it but it does at least raise some doubts.
Patrick Reed ($9,200) – Somewhat quietly, perhaps because he hasn’t played all that much, Reed has been performing well as of late. He was 14th at the ZOZO, third at the BMW PGA in Europe, 13th at the U.S.Open and eighth at the TOUR Championship. As a past champion at The Masters, you can’t overlook Reed this week.
Tiger Woods ($9,100) – Speaking of past champions, no one in the field has the history of Tiger. And considering he won here 17 months ago, he may be a popular pick. But nothing about Woods’ recent form suggests that he’s primed to defend his title. Course knowledge and history only take you so far when your game just isn’t there.
Bubba Watson ($9,000) – Another past champion, no one plays Augusta quite like Watson. The lefty has a great feel for the course with two wins and a T5 and T12 in his last two outings. He’s not been playing poorly of late and you have to wonder at this price if he has some magic at this tournament once again.
