Jim Irsay had a questionable take about Derrick Henry and may need his phone taken away

The Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans are squaring off Thursday night in a crucial divisional battle. The tough thing for the Colts will be stopping dominant running back Derrick Henry.

Last year’s rushing champ is easily the top runner in the game and Colts owner Jim Irsay decided to take it to a whole new level with his praise. Someone may need to take the owner’s phone away during the pivotal matchup.

Irsay praises Henry while his defense is trying to stop him

This sure is a weird take to have for an opposing player. Not only that, but Henry still has a long way to go before he is considered better than the great Earl Campbell, or even Jerome Bettis for that matter.

Henry has undoubtedly had a huge glow-up in the past few years. However, he has still only eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in two seasons. He is going to get there again in 2020 as well and is on pace to finish his career with some amazing marks.

Still, he is not an all-time great and the fact Irsay would tweet this out when his team is taking on the Titans is just bizarre. This is yet another example of why some people should just stay off social media.

Irsay is known to have quite the personality and it appears he is just trying to share some praise for one of the best running backs in today’s game. But anyone who uses Twitter knows such a take opens itself up to extreme criticism. Hopefully, Irsay puts his phone down the rest of the night and just enjoys the game.
