Arkansas quarterback Feleipe Franks has a message for his former Florida football teammates ahead of the SEC crossover game.

Who says you can’t go home again?

It’ll be a homecoming game for Feleipe Franks as the former Florida football starting quarterback returns to The Swamp as the starting quarterback of the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Franks had a love-hate relationship for the better part of his time in Gainesville where expectations were outsized for the quarterback who infamously gestured to his home fans to be quiet after a touchdown.

There were no SEC titles for Franks during his time with Florida but he was beloved by Gators head coach Dan Mullen and still maintains an open line of communication with him and his wife Megan. Franks is also still close with his former teammates and anxiously awaits going to battle with his new friends against his old friends.

Speaking with Maria Taylor on College GameDay, Franks delivered a message for his former teammates.

“The main objective is to go out there and win,” Franks said. “Best friends over the years. At the end of the day, it’s all love but like I said, the goal remains the same. Gotta go out there and beat you guys. That’s it.”

After Franks was injured, Kyle Trask came in and put up big numbers and led the team to some big wins. That’s carried over into 2020 where Trask has put himself in the Heisman conversation and the Gators in the playoff conversation.

It’s worked out for Franks at Arkansas as well where he’s got a fresh start at a program needing a fresh start. He’s meshed well with head coach Sam Pittman (who will miss this game after testing positive for COVID) and the rebuilding program that’s been one of the bigger surprises in the nation this year. And for Franks, he’s got 14 touchdowns to only three interceptions while completing 67.2 percent of his passes. He’d love for nothing more than to get a win against his former team.
