Eagles fans are fuming over Doug Pederson’s use of Jalen Hurts

Doug Pederson refuses to let Jalen Hurts throw the ball
Carson Wentz simply hasn’t played up to par this season. Despite glimpses of greatness, Wentz turns the ball over far too often, and fails to move the Eagles down the field against the worst of defenses, including the New York Giants this very week.
With a win over their rival, the Eagles could’ve solidified themselves as favorites in the NFC East, and put away the Giants in the same breathe. Instead, they laid an egg, and the Giants are still alive in the division. Such is the way of the NFC East.
Eagles fans, like most of us, have noticed Wentz’s inconsistent play, although they’re forced to watch it on a weekly basis. Because of this, they’d like to see what Hurts has to offer through the air.
Eagles fans are furious about how Pederson used Hurts on Sunday
The Eagles do use Hurts almost every game, but in more of a Taysom Hill-inspired role, rather than giving him an opportunity to pass.
Hurts was a Heisman Trophy finalist at Oklahoma, and a former SEC Freshman of the Year at Alabama. By no means is he limited to a wildcat role. However, the Eagles feel pressured to use Hurts because they used a second-round pick on him, which was deemed a surprise in the first place.
If Wentz keeps struggling, the calls for Hurts will only grow louder.
