Patriots’ wide receiver Jakobi Meyers threw a beautiful trick play touchdown in the first half of the Patriots game against the Ravens.

What do you do when you’re having trouble on the quarterback front? Get your wide receiver to throw a touchdown pass.

On Sunday Night Football, it was Jakobi Meyers of the Patriots who delivered the ball of the night to Rex Burkhead for a touchdown just before the end of the first half against the Ravens.

That was a dime from Meyers for the 24-yard score. He was a high school quarterback and clearly still has the arm to sling it.

Believe it or not, that was arguably the best play of the season for the Patriots. It was the longest for sure.

Jakobi Meyers put the Patriots up with his great throw

Thanks to the touchdown, the Patriots were able to go ahead 13-10 at halftime, even though Nick Folk missed the extra point.

To be fair to Cam Newton, he put in a good showing in the first half. He had 61 yards on 7-of-9 passing with his own touchdown to Burkhead from seven yards out earlier in the second quarter. He added a rushing touchdown to start the second half.

The Patriots needed to find some way to spark their offense facing a Ravens team that could explode at any moment. On the plus side, New England was able to keep Lamar Jackson under wraps for much of the half. They picked off the Baltimore QB before the half.

New England is 3-5 and has struggled to impress for much of the season. The Ravens, on the other hand, are 6-2 and looking to keep in contention for the AFC North. Since the Steelers beat the Bengals on Sunday to stay undefeated, Baltimore has to keep pace, even on the road and in the pouring rain.
