The LSU Tigers have done a terrible job handling sexual misconduct and now all the details are coming out.

USA Today‘s expose on the LSU Tigers’ mishandling of sexual misconduct complaints is alarming.

According to USA Today, “officials in the university’s athletic department and broader administration repeatedly have ignored complaints against abusers, denied victims’ requests for protections and subjected them to further harm by known perpetrators.” Many of these complaints are tied to former running back Derrius Guice and former wide receiver Drake Davis.

These instances have become more frequent under head coach Ed Orgeron

Though LSU won the College Football Playoff a season ago under head coach Ed Orgeron, it just keeps getting worse for this program. They have cratered into one of the worst teams in the SEC this season after going undefeated the year prior. USA Today reports since Orgeron was hired full-time four years ago, at least nine players have been reported to the police for sexual misconduct.

It seems as though the university and the coaching staff have tried to sweep all of these allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence under the rug for the sake of fielding the best team possible on fall Saturdays. The more you dig into the expose, the more unsettled you feel about the whole situation. It does not feel like it is going to end well for Orgeron and LSU at all.

LSU is about to be in a heap of trouble over the way the school has handled sexual misconduct and rightly so. Prioritizing wins on the field over the health and safety of the student body should be unacceptable.
