While Stephen Silas might not run his offense at the same breakneck speed Mike D’Antoni did, he comes from a high-octane offense in Dallas. Even in those sorts of schemes, a big man that can block shots and attack the rim for easy buckets is necessary, and those two traits are Whiteside’s bread and butter.
This is certainly the riskiest move given the constriction of the roster around Whiteside, but if he is willing to take on Capela’s old role, Houston might be able to compete for a championship this year.
