Chicago Bears: 3 free agent quarterbacks to sign if Nick Foles misses time with injury
2. Jordan Ta’amu
Matt Nagy is a disciple of the Andy Reid coach tree. Anytime he can get a hand on a player who used to play under the system might worth bringing in for a workout. For that reason alone, maybe a ticket on the Ta’amu hype train is just what the Bears need at this point.
Perhaps best known for his days in the XFL, Ta’amu was a superstar as the franchise guy for the St.Louis BattleHawks. The Ole Miss product actually put up quality numbers, throwing for 1,050 passing yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions during the five-game stint. Ta’amu also led all quarterbacks with 217 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Ta’amu is fast, jerky and can move outside the pocket. At this point, anyone looking to pass short will do. Throw in his running ability and maybe there’s something in the works with the Samoan native finding success in the Windy City.
