Wide Receiver: Chase Claypool $6,400
For the same price as Marvin Jones, you can also get Chase Claypool. Itās always a major risk to double up on a quarterback and wide receiver, but itās a much smaller risk against the Jacksonville Jaguars defense. Also, Claypool is a threat to run the ball, which is something the Jaguars defense probably canāt handle.
Claypool has been averaging just under 11 targets per game over the past three games. He had two touchdowns last week and has been keen on getting big scores. Heās had at least 16 points in four different games, and he had that miraculous game where he had 39. Heās been becoming a more consistent part of the offense, instead of the boom-or-bust player he was earlier in the season.
The Steelers have been focusing more and more on the passing game. Thatās allowing all of its receivers to get plenty of points for fantasy owners. However, Claypool has been getting so many targets, itās clear who Roethlisberger is looking at more often than not.
Whatās even better for Claypool owners is Roethlisberger is reportedly making up Claypoolās routes on the fly. For the veteran to trust a rookie like that, especially in the red zone, shows that he will continue to target him in big opportunities.
Basically, Big Ben just tells him what route to run in the huddle, and he puts the ball there. Claypool should be scoring touchdowns for the rest of the season.
