Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta might’ve let his thoughts on the Warriors slip on Twitter.

The Rocket and Warriors have a long-standing feud on the floor, but given both teams recent roster destruction, one would expect that to simmer down. Instead, Fertitta had other ideas, though he clearly gave the Warriors some bulletin board material unintentionally.

In the wake of the devastating Klay Thompson achilles injury, which will cost him the entire 2020-21 season, the Warriors traded for Oklahoma City Thunder guard Kelly Oubre. Golden State is taking on a mountain of salary in the process, further proving they don’t give a damn about the luxury tax. While Warriors fans may love the fact that their ownership group doesn’t mind spending for success, others around the NBA feel differently. Considering the RT, you can add Fertitta to that list.

Consider Fertitta thrilled at the Warriors expense, literally.

Are both the Rockets and Warriors headed in the wrong direction?

Houston most certainly is, whether they want to admit it or not. Russell Westbrook definitely wants out, and James Harden isn’t far behind him. Westbrook wants to be a floor general again, while Harden prefers a real contender, which the Rockets won’t be if they deal Russ. Consider Brooklyn the favorite to land Harden in what would be a reunion of sorts with Kevin Durant.

The Warriors, meanwhile, were gearing up for another NBA Title run before Thompson’s injury. Assuming they’re unable to take a step forward with one half of their legendary backcourt missing, the Dubs run will have to wake until 2021-22, at which point their core will have aged another year.
