10 games are sure to impact the upcoming College Football Playoff field.

The following games will decide who makes the College Football Playoff this season.

With the first rankings of the College Football Playoff released for the 2020 college football season, were have a better understanding of what games actually matter the rest of the way and which ones do not. Up to this point, we have leaned on the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll for guidance. Now, we must put all our faith into the College Football Playoff Selection Committee

10 games that will shape the 2020 College Football Playoff

10. LSU Tigers at Texas A&M Aggies

With the Texas A&M Aggies getting the No. 5 overall ranking in the initial playoff rankings, they are in a terrific spot to get in as a one-loss, at-large team. If any team is capable of doing it, it would have to be the Aggies because they will have not played for a conference title bout and would not leave a sour taste in our mouths with their first loss being on a big stage this late in the year.

Even though the LSU Tigers are not the least bit good, this is a rivalry game for both teams. More importantly, it is the next game on the Aggies’ schedule. Because they have not played in a while, they need to go out Thanksgiving Weekend and assert themselves over an SEC West rival. If they do this, they will stay as the No. 5 seed. If they do not, the Florida Gators will leapfrog them.

9. Cincinnati Bearcats at Tulsa Golden Hurricane

One of the advantages of playing in the American Athletic Conference from a College Football Playoff/New Year’s Six perspective is this Group of 5 conference will regularly have two to four teams ranked inside of the top 25. This year, the Cincinnati Bearcats are the top dog in The American, while the Tulsa Golden Hurricane has come on of late and looks to be a good team.

These two teams will meet in a few weeks in Tulsa. If the Bearcats stay perfect, they may face the Golden Hurricane in the AAC title bout with a little bit more than the Group of 5 New Year’s Six nod on the line. Should Tulsa win this regular-season matchup, or even the conference championship, the Golden Hurricane will absolutely ruin the Bearcats’ question to achieving perfection.
