JJ Watt delivered with a huge pick-6 for the Texans and it’s just a reminder that he and Deshaun Watson should be on a different, better team.

Thus far in the Thanksgiving showdown between the Houston Texans and Detroit Lions, it’s both Deshaun Watson and JJ Watt powering the visiting team. First, Watt recorded a sweet pick-6 for the Texans to bring them within 7-6.

Then, after another Detroit turnover, Watson connected with CJ Prosise for a short touchdown pass to put the Texans on top. As everyone expected, it’s Watson leading the way on offense and Watt being the superstar that he is on defense.

With that said, these guys are on a 3-7 squad, with the future of the team completely up in the air. Plain and simple, they both deserve better.

Both Deshaun Watson and JJ Watt deserve much better than playing for the Houston Texans

Earlier this season, Watt already came out and said he’s not ready to be part of a team rebuilding. Everyone knows this Houston team is a mess, but Watt comes out every single game and plays like one of the best defensive ends we’ve seen in the past 10 years.

His brilliant play on his pick-6 completely changed the momentum of the Thanksgiving Day tilt with the Lions.

As for Watson, his athleticism really is beautiful to watch. He can hurt you with either his strong right arm or his blazing wheels. Yet, it feels like he’s trapped in Houston. As soon as former head coach and general manager Bill O’Brien traded away DeAndre Hopkins, it felt like a major slap in the face to Watson.

This season, he’s played strong, but again, Houston has been a terrible team to watch. You almost feel bad for Watson right now. Looking ahead, the Texans need to do everything possible to help Watt and Watson succeed.

Otherwise, their great careers could be wasted in Houston.
