Ryan Tannehill makes Colts respect the pass with explosive touchdown to AJ Brown (Video)

A.J. Brown took a Ryan Tannehill pass to the house against the Colts.
Mike Vrabel and the Tennessee Titans needed one of their star offensive players to truly bust out if they want to exact revenge on the Indianapolis Colts, and wide receiver A.J. Brown did his part by using his 220-pound frame and exceptional speed to gash what had been a very stout Indianapolis secondary this season.
Brown took a Ryan Tannehill slant to the house, slicing through a tough Colts defense for a 69-yard score that put Tennessee up 14-7.
A.J. Brown is becoming one of the game’s best receivers
While Brown has missed some time this season due to injury, he now has eight touchdowns in just nine games, topping 100 yards twice in that span. In an offense built around Derrick Henry, those numbers are quite an accomplishment.
With the likes of Xavier Rhodes and Julian Blackmon spearheading a group that held Tannehill to just 15 completions and 147 yards passing in Indy’s Thursday Night victory, things were looking grim for Arthur Smith and the Titans, who are trying to move to 8-3 and cement themselves as the leaders in that division. However, with Brown showing off an ability to make plays after the catch equalled by few his age in the league, Tennessee had found ways to generate offense.
There is still plenty of game left, and a completely confused Titans defense might have a touch time slowing down Philip Rivers and a Colts that is still putting the ball in the end zone with regularity, but the Titans should feel confident about their chances if they get into a shootout given their skill position talent. If the Colts can’t cover Brown, this will be a long afternoon for Matt Eberflus.
