This week, the PGA Tour presents the FanDuel/DFS community with the Mayakoba Golf Classic. Let’s take a look at this event from a fantasy golf perspective!

Before I discuss my FanDuel player selections I wanted to clearly state that the purpose of this article is not to provide a specific lineup. Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a FanDuel GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my FanDuel player selections for the Mayakoba Golf Classic!

Harris English $11,500

English has an impressive five top 12 finishes in his last eight tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a fourth place finish at the U.S. Open.

In relation to this week’s current listed Mayakoba Golf Classic field, in the last 24 rounds played on the PGA Tour, English ranks ninth in bogey avoidance, third in strokes gained around the green, 11th in strokes gained tee to green, and 23rd in GIR (greens in regulation).

Russell Knox $9,600

Knox certainly fits the narrative of a course horse. Knox has played the Mayakoba Golf Classic four times since 2015. In those four events played, Knox has three top nine finishes, including a third place finish at the 2016 Mayakoba Golf Classic.

Knox also checks the box for me when it comes to current form. The 35 year old has two top 16 finishes in his last three events played on the PGA Tour.

Adam Long $9,500

Long has three top 13 finishes in his last seven events played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive fifth place result at the U.S. Open.

It should also be noted that Long finished second at last year’s Mayakoba Golf Classic.

John Huh $8,900

When playing fantasy golf I like to look for motivation. Sure, I know every player that tees it up this week is motivated. What I am making reference to is what I have determined to be “enhanced” motivation. For me, John Huh fits that description perfectly.

What do I mean by enhance motivation? Well, let’s take a look at John Huh. Huh does not have a full time job on the PGA Tour currently. He is playing a limited number of tournaments on a major medical exemption. If he does not perform at a high level on the limited number of starts that the PGA Tour has provided him the man will be without a job.

Huh has been making the most of his limited starts. The American has two top 19 finishes in his last three starts on the PGA Tour, including a 12th place result at the RSM Classic two weeks ago.

Roger Sloan $7,900

Yes, I know that Sloan missed the cut in his two previous appearances at this week’s event. However, I also know that Sloan has never arrived at the Mayakoba Golf Classic in good form. Well, this year he does arrive in Mexico in good form. More specifically, Sloan has two consecutive top 23 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a 16th place result at the RSM Classic.

I also love Sloan’s low FanDuel price of only $7,900.

Next. NFL week 13 start/sit. dark

Additional golfers I like this week: Abraham Ancer $11,100: Chez Reavie $9,600: Peter Malnati $8,800.
