2. Ha-Seong Kim, INF, Kiwoom Heroes

Year in and year out, there’s always an international free agent that MLB teams bid over. Nearly three years ago, it was Shohei Ohtani. This year, it’s infielder Ha-Seong Kim of the Korean Baseball Organizations’ Kiwoom Heroes.

Kim is the apple of MLB teams’ eyes, as he possesses desirable speed on the base path and immense power in the batters box. This past season with the Heroes, Kim slashed a ridiculous line of .306/.397/.523, while recording 30 home runs, 109 RBI and 23 stolen bases on 25 attempts. Overall, Kim posted 49 homers, 213 RBI and 56 stolen bases in his two campaigns with Kiwoom.

The Korean infielder is on this list because the Rangers are interested in acquiring him, according to MLB.com’s T.R. Sullivan. Once he is posted by the KBO, the Rangers are expected to be aggressive in signing him.

Texas needs to bolster up their infield, as Elvis Andrus and Rougned Odor have been relegated down the depth chart in favor of Nick Solak and Isiah Kiner-Falefa. The Rangers are a team that can take a chance on an international star translating their game to the MLB. Based off his numbers in the KBO, the Rangers would be getting a player who brings much-needed talent to their rather weak lineup.
