Kyrie Irving released a vague statement with Brooklyn Nets training camp underway.

Kyrie Irving has been an interesting individual since he joined the NBA as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. He is now with the Brooklyn Nets and part of a superteam alongside Kevin Durant.

The Nets are in the midst of training camp and it was time to talk to the media. Irving instead opted to release a statement via a spokesperson.

Irving appears to be only focused on basketball

Irving has had his words twisted in the past and this statement, albeit vague, seems to point toward him only wanting to talk and focus on basketball. That is fair, but NBA rules may force him to speak to the media at some point. He also doesn’t want to rub his teammates the wrong way if they have to face the media after losses without their star.

Saying he wants to let his work speak for him isn’t the vague part. That comes when he says not speaking with the media is the beginning of his newfound changed approach.

However, Irving did say he wants his message to be conveyed properly so the fact it is on paper can avoid a scenario where he simply says something vague then walks away without further questions.

Nets fans should not care if Irving talks to the media or not as long as he gets back to his old ways. The duo of Irving and Durant is a dream team in Brooklyn and it will finally become a reality after such a long wait.

The star point guard will likely have to speak at some point. For now, he can focus on returning to the court and giving NBA fans another glimpse at his talent.
