Scoring touchdowns is the “name of the game” in fantasy football and it is no coincidence that the “Surefire Starters” at running back for week 13 have each scored at least 12 touchdowns this season.

Surefire Starters

  • Dalvin Cook, Minnesota Vikings running back, leads the league in rushing touchdowns with 13.  Add one TD as a pass receiver and you can understand how Cook is second in fantasy football points at running back to Alvin Kamara of New Orleans.  (Cook has 251.5 FFP to Kamara’s 263.1 points.)  Cook could score 25+ points against a struggling Jacksonville run defense.
  • Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints running back, has 1,231 total yards (585 rushing and 646 receiving).  He has rushed for 8 touchdowns and caught 4 touchdown passes. The  Saints face division-rival Atlanta in a game that should feature the rushing talents of QB Tayson HIll and RB Alvin Kamara.
  • Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans running back, leads all running backs with 1,257 yards rushing.  He has also scored the most rushing touchdowns (13) in the league.  Ironically, he has not caught a touchdown pass in 2020. Henry will be looking to duplicate his week 12 178-yard rushing effort in a home game  this weekend.

Riding the Bench

Note:  These running backs have week 13 ”Byes”.

  • Mike Davis, Carolina Panthers running back
  • Ronald Jones II, Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back

Underrated

  • Antonio Gibson, Washington Football Team running back, scored an incredible 36.1 FFP by rushing for 115 yards and 3 touchdowns on Thanksgiving Day.  He averaged 5.8 yards per carry in slicing up the Dallas defense.

Overrated

  • Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas Cowboys running back, was surprisingly ineffective against Washington in week 12.  He fumbled for the sixth time this season and ran for only 32 yards. He has fallen to scoring at a RB2’s pace.

Sleeper RB of the Week

  • Josh Jacobs, Las Vega Raiders running back, is considered a “Sleeper” this week because he has scored 15 or more FFP consistently this year. Unless his ankle injury returns to give him trouble, Jacobs should have a great game against the New York Jets run defense.
