Benches cleared at halftime between BYU and Coastal Carolina after Cougars quarterback Zach Wilson got pile-driven into the turf.

The college football game of the week was a game we didn’t even know we’d have until Thursday morning when BYU and Coastal Carolina scheduled a game after Liberty had to back out with their engagement with the Chanticleers.

The first half proved to be a great game with BYU leading 14-13 at the break, but it ended with both sides getting into a mini brawl that really stood out.

BYU quarterback Zach Wilson threw an interception on a Hail Mary attempt as time expired at the close of the half and a pair of Coastal Carolina players targeted him and drove him into the turf with some violent intentions.

That led to BYU players coming to the defense of their star quarterback and Heisman candidate, which is totally understandable after such a cheap and dirty play.

The second half of the game on ESPNU should be one to watch as the two undefeated teams have a lot to play for and they have a lot of bad intentions after the first half came to a close with the teams brawling.
