The Seattle Seahawks just lost to the New York Giants, but there is no reason to worry here.

In one of the week’s bigger upsets, the Seattle Seahawks fell at home to the New York Giants.

Seattle stumbles to 8-4 on the season, as the Seahawks dropped its Week 13 contest to the G-Men, 17-12. They held a 5-0 lead at halftime, but could only manage seven points in the second half, as the Giants outscored them at Lumen Field 17-7 in the final two frames. So many 12s must be losing their minds now, but here are three reasons they need to chill out and stop panicking.

3. You do realize the Giants are playing some fantastic ball right now?

So much has been made about how bad the NFC East has been this year that it is nauseating. Well, guess what, folks? Somebody has to win that putrid four-team division, and it is probably going to be the Giants. Do you know how I know this? Because the 5-7 G-Men have won their last four games and are in first place through Week 13. Joe Judge has figured this coaching thing out.

Even if it was Colt McCoy filling in for an injured Daniel Jones, the Giants are playing very hard for their rookie head coach. With teams like the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles doing everything in their power to not take care of business, rival squads like New York and the Washington Football Team have taken advantage of their foes’ utter incompetence.

Though the Giants are probably only going to win one or maybe two more games to finish the year at 6-10 or 7-9, they are certainly a better team than the club who started out the season in an atrocious 1-7 hole. Football is a game of momentum and the Giants are absolutely playing with some right now. They will drop a game again, but the Seahawks did not have enough to stop them.

So if the Seahawks were to have fallen to teams like the Cowboys, the Eagles or other undeniable NFC cannon fodder, that would be a bigger issue. However, dropping a game at home to what will very likely be another NFC playoff team is not the worst thing in the world. The Giants in the first half of the season sucked, but this is a significantly better team from Week 9 on this year.
