The Michigan-Ohio State rivalry game is trending toward being played after all.

The Game appears to be on between Ohio State and Michigan.

Michigan football had to pause team activities last week after a virus outbreak and their game last weekend was canceled, which led to uncertainty about the rivalry game with Ohio State.

However, optimism is building the game will be played with the Wolverines returning to practice on Monday, according to Pete Thamel of Yahoo. Had the game been canceled, it would have left Ohio State one game shy of being eligible to compete for the Big Ten Championship. However, all that worry appears to be for naught with the game trending in direction of being played.

Michigan and Ohio State are in the middle of entirely different seasons

Ohio State has its eyes set on another playoff spot, as Justin Fields’ prolific production has Ryan Day and the Buckeyes in prime position for one of the final four spots. Michigan, on the other hand, looks like a Rich Rodriguez-coached team at the moment given their disappointing effort on both sides of the ball.

Michigan only has gone 2-4 on the season, with one of those wins an overtime nail-biter against Rutgers. Jim Harbaugh was once hailed as the savior of the program given his experience in the NFL and history at the university, but the former Wolverine quarterback is now on the verge of being handed his pink slip due to his inability to beat good teams.

Even when one of these programs is in the dumps, you can throw out all the records when these two teams decide to lock horns. In a challenging season for both teams, there is nothing they would want more than handing their hated rivals one satisfying L to end the year.
