Trevor Lawrence has a number of Clemson football records but the one he set vs. Virginia Tech may be the one he’s most proud of.

Trevor Lawrence’s Clemson football career is one of the greatest any quarterback has ever had in college football history. As Clemson continues to fight for a playoff spot, Lawrence continues to both prove he is the favorite to go No. 1 overall in 2021 and the greatest quarterback to ever suit up for the Tigers.

After taking down Justin Fuente and Virginia Tech on Saturday, Lawrence won his 33rd game as the starting quarterback, the most in program history. Lawrence was tied with Rodney Williams, Tajh Boyd and Deshaun Watson. He has a chance to add three more wins with the ACC Championship Game vs. Notre Dame and potentially two playoff games to bump that number to 36-1 as the Clemson starting quarterback.

Trevor Lawrence’s only loss was in a National Championship against LSU

Considering all of the wacky twists of fate that can derail a college football season, the fact that Lawrence has set an all-time wins record while losing just once, which happened to come against a loaded LSU team propelled by future No. 1 pick Joe Burrow, is nothing short of astounding.

Considering the statistical production that Lawrence has had over the last three seasons, he is the main reason Dabo Swinney’s Tigers have been the toast of the college football world over the last few seasons. D.J. Uiagalelei has the talent to win a title with the Tigers but he has quite the task ahead of him when it comes to replacing Lawrence.

On Monday, Lawrence was named a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award for the Collegiate Player of the Year and Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award.

While Lawrence will likely be either a Jet or a Jaguar in a few months, his illustrious college career is now clearly the best of any Clemson quarterback.
