WWE Monday Night Raw is continuing to build stories heading into the WWE TLC PPV later this month and the action on Monday kept that train moving forward.

Another edition of Monday Night Raw was front and center, featuring the biggest names on the red brand. WWE TLC is a few weeks away and this show was meant to push those angles forward heading into the PPV on the WWE Network.

The first match of the evening featured Asuka, accompanied by Lana. The duo is set to face off against Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax for the WWE women’s tag team titles at TLC, but this was a singles match on Monday with Asuka and Baszler facing off for the first time.

These ladies are grappling connoisseurs and that came through immediately in this match. After exchanging leg attacks, Baszler was in control early, focusing on the WWE Raw women’s champion’s arm. Baszler was dominating until her and Jax turned their attention to Lana. Lana found a way to defend herself on the outside, but Baszler’s distraction led to Asuka rolling her up for the pin fall win.

Mixed-tag team action was up next. Dana Brooke and Ricochet teamed up to compete against Reckoning and Slapjack of RETRIBUTION. The action in this match picked up quickly, but the match did not last long at all. Ricochet and Slapjack took each other out of the match which opened the door for Brooke to hit a sit-out powerbomb like maneuver for the win.

Kofi Kingston and Shelton Benjamin were out next for a singles match, building on the feud they have been having in the tag team division. Benjamin came out of the gates hot, trying to pin the former champion quickly. It would be that aggression that cost Benjamin, after running into the barricade outside the ring. He rolled back in and walked right into a Trouble in Paradise, getting the pin and the win.

But it would not end there. Kingston would get goaded into a second match, this time against Cedric Alexander. Alexander would focus on the left leg that Kingston injured in the first match against Benjamin. And it was that injury that opened the door for Alexander to get the win. Kingston came off the top and landed on that bad leg, as he hobbled around the ring, Alexander landed the Lumbar Check to pin Kingston and get the win.

Drew McIntyre and Sheamus were set for a handicap match as they faced AJ Styles, the Miz and John Morrison. This match was as brutal as one would expect, with McIntyre and Sheamus getting out to an early lead by overpowering the other men. However, the number games would come into play, as Sheamus would get isolated after being overwhelmed by the three men on the other side.

McIntyre was finally able to get back into the ring and started to toss everyone around the ring. However, in the breakdown Sheamus landed an accidental Brogue Kick. In the confusion, Styles landed a Phenomenal Forearm on Sheamus, pinning him to get the victory for his team.

Bobby Lashley was up next to compete in a singles match against Jeff Hardy. Lashley went to work immediately, grounding Hardy and stalking him around the ring. Hardy would not go away without a fight, using his quickness to get a small advantage. A distraction from MVP gave an opening, but Matt Riddle made an appearance to even things up.

They would get back into the ring where Lashley’s strength would once again take over. Hardy fought out of a rear naked choke and got in some offense of his own. Hardy jumped off the top rope and missed, eating a spear for his trouble. Lashley locked in the Hurt Lock and ragged dolled his opponent until Hardy tapped out.

Randy Orton demanded a one-on-one match with Bray Wyatt in the main event of the evening. This fight ended up outside the ring quickly with Wyatt almost putting Orton through the announce table. Back in the ring Orton would take over and dominate Wyatt. Wyatt would not stay down, as he fought back during the second half of the match.

Orton could not put away Wyatt, who kept attempting to hit Sister Abigail. Orton landed the RKO but when we went for the pin fall the Fiend appeared and put Orton to sleep with the Mandible Claw, bringing an end to the show.
