In the Monday Night Football loss to the Washington Football Team, it was made incredibly clear how much the Steelers miss James Conner.

Fans all over Pittsburgh are still in shock over what happened on Monday night. Entering their showdown with the Washington Football Team as favorites, the Steelers saw their perfect season come to an end with a 23-17 defeat.

Offensively, Ben Roethlisberger and Co. were off all night, with the running game being a non-factor from start to finish. While Benny Snell and Anthony McFarland Jr. did their best, it wasn’t good enough.

Straight up, this team missed James Conner and need him back on the field as soon as possible to help Pittsburgh try and get the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

The Pittsburgh Steelers need James Conner back and healthy immediately

After testing positive for COVID-19 last month, Conner has missed the last two games for the Steelers. With Conner unable to go on Monday, Pittsburgh rushed for 21 yards in the loss to Washington. That’s not a typo folks. McFarland led the team with 15 yards on four carries, while Snell finished with five yards on eight carries. Rough.

In the first half, the Steelers had the ball down deep in Washington territory, but couldn’t get the ball into the end zone. On 4th down, Snell was given the rock from the one-yard line, but Chase Young swooped in from the edge to help stop him short. If it was Conner getting the carries and goal-line work, Monday’s result could have been completely different.

Conner is the feature back for this offense and runs with aggression. He’s been incredibly missed the last two games, and he’s needed now more than ever with the Steelers ready to battle with the Chiefs the rest of the campaign for the AFC’s No. 1 seed.
