The fallout from NXT TakeOver: WarGames was front and center on WWE NXT this Wednesday as angles were moved forward and new feuds started.

For WWE NXT, the week started off with NXT TakeOver: WarGames, where Team Candice LeRae and Undisputed Era were both victorious in the cage. There was a lot of fallout coming from that event, including the return of Karrion Kross and Finn Balor to the NXT ring. Wednesday was set to be a big night for the black and yellow WWE brand.

The first match of the night was brought out with Swerve Scott against Jake Atlas. Scott and Atlas went move-for-move to start the match, countering each other on the fly. Both men had their moments, but neither was able to keep control long enough to get the victory. At the end they continued to trade submission and pinning attempts, but Atlas caught Scott, rolling him up in a unique counter to get the victory.

A triple-threat tag match was up next. Imperium, Ever-Rise and the Grizzled Young Vets took center stage in the ring. The Grizzled Young Vets were putting on a show early, letting everyone know they still have it after last week’s return. That did not stop Ever-Rise from breaking out some of their unique offense as well.

Imperium looked like they were on the way to winning, but Ever-Rise broke up the pinfall and tried to steal the win. Before they could capitalize, the Grizzled Young Vets hit the Ticket to Mayhem to get the pin fall and take the victory back home.

Tommaso Ciampa is on a journey to take out as many men on the NXT roster as possible. Cameron Grimes was the next man in his sights as they battled on Wednesday. This started as a grappling match between the two but broke down into an outright fight. Timothy Thatcher was outside the ring watching the match, and when both Ciampa and Grimes ended up outside, Grimes used that opportunity to seize control of the match. He stayed on top of the former champion, hitting him with a wealth of offense but still being unable to get the pin fall.

The end of the match came when Tyler Rust tried to get involved. Ciampa slid outside the ring to distract Grimes, who followed. On his way back into the ring, Grimes would eat the Willow’s Bell and take the pin fall loss.

Pete Dunne attacked Killian Dain a few weeks ago and Dain wanted payback when he returned. Dain went right after Dunne early, hitting him with high-impact offense and knocking him out of the ring. Nothing Dunne seemed to do would stop Dain in his quest to hurt Dunne.

Dunne was eventually able to get Dain off his feet, grounding the bigger man and trying to choke him out. Dain did not stay down long, landing a Power Bomb and following up with an Elbow Drop. Dain even hit a Brain Buster from the top, but that was not enough to but away Dunne. Unfortunately, a distraction led to the finish as Dain chased off Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch. As he tried to get back into the ring, Dain would get caught and Dunne hit the Bitter End for the victory.

The main event of the night brought out Ember Moon to face off against Raquel Gonzalez in single’s competition. Moon tried to out-quick the bigger woman, but once Gonzalez had her hands on Moon, the former NXT champion was in trouble.

Moon would not stay down, finding a way to get Gonzalez off her feet, but could not keep her there. Moon got a little bit of separation, but she continued to get beat back by the bigger woman. Gonzalez was in control for much of the match, but Moon fought back multiple times, hitting a big Suplex and DDT. Moon went for the Eclipse, but Gonzalez caught her in midair, planting her once again. Gonzalez would hit the Single Arm Power Bomb to finish off the former champion and pick up the win.
