Aaron Donald is wrecking Cam Newton and the Patriots offense Thursday night.

The New England Patriots entered Thursday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams needing a win to stay in the playoff race. Aaron Donald had something to say about that.

The defensive star is mauling the Patriots up front and even forced a pick-6 in the first half.

A one-man wrecking crew

Donald’s impact doesn’t just show up in the form of tackles and sacks. He is an extremely intelligent defensive lineman and forcing the pick-6 was just another example of that.

The Patriots offensive line was going to have trouble against this defensive line regardless. Donald playing at the top of his game is just too tough to stop.

The two-time Defensive Player of the Year is making life hard on Cam Newton and the Patriots. The New England offense managed three points in the first half and put up a zero in the third quarter. Playoff hopes in Foxborough are slowly slipping away and letting Donald tee off on Newton is a bad sign for Patriots fans.

On the other side, Rams fans should be ecstatic. A win allows Los Angeles to remain atop the NFC West and stay alive in the hunt for the top overall seed. Potential playoff opponents are also seeing that the Rams defense will once again be a tough matchup.

The Rams defense sacked Cam Newton four times in the first three quarters of Thursday’s game. Jared Goff was not sacked once as the Rams are focusing on Cam Akers running all over the Patriots defense as the key to victory. There is no one like Donald on the defensive line for the Patriots who can change a game the way the All-Pro has not just Thursday, but on a weekly basis.
