Our college football best bets for Week 15 include the Army-Navy game, a big ACC over/under and much more action and picks to win with this week.
We’re nearing the end of the 2020 college football season as conference championship games will take place next week, making way for the slate of bowl games. That means it’s time that we start truly cashing in on our weekly best bets and making the most of them. Lucky for us, the best bets in college football Week 15 offer plenty of solid action that you’ll want to get on.
There were plenty of rivalry games a week ago but we’ll have a handful this week, including the vaunted Army-Navy game (which also happens to be part of our best bets). However, the rest of the Power 5 slate surrounding that rivalry will also give bettors plenty of opportunities to cash in on Saturday.
Subsequently, let’s dig into the slate as we identify the five best bets for college football in Week 15. All odds are courtesy of The Action Network.
College football best bets for Week 15
5. USC (-2.5) vs. UCLA
For what it’s worth, not much USC has done this season has been all that impressive. The Trojans, even in two double-digit victories, have fallen short of preseason expectations. UCLA, on the other hand, has exceeded expectations. But when you get down to it, there is a severe talent gap between these two Los Angeles rivals. And when they play, this will be the proverbial Super Bowl for Clay Helton’s team, meaning they come out and pick up a sound victory.
4. North Carolina vs. Miami – Over 68Â
Considering that the Miami Hurricanes are only three-point favorites at home, the No. 10 ranked team in the country is considered pretty evenly matched with the Tar Heels. While that may be the case, that does make it hard to confidently pick a side. But if there is something to be on, it’s points being scored.
Virtually every game Sam Howell and North Carolina have been in this season have resulted in a shootout. And against teams that have played Miami close, many of them have also gotten in the same type of game. So with Howell and D’Eriq King dueling, expect the 68-point total to get shattered on Saturday.
3. Tennessee (-16) vs. Vanderbilt
This is not a best bet for the faint of heart because taking Tennessee as more than a two-touchdown favorite seems like a fool’s errand. After all, the Vols have fallen well short of expectations in the 2020 season.
Of course, Jeremy Pruitt’s team hasn’t been as much of a disaster as rival Vanderbilt. But just as importantly, Pruitt’s seat is getting hot and, if the team has any pride, they need something to hang their hats on for the entire season and this rivalry game against a bad team is the best chance.
2. Wake Forest (+105) vs. Louisville
It’s rare that I include a moneyline as part of my best bets but, when you see an underdog that should be the favorite, you have to jump on it. Make no mistake, Wake Forest isn’t a world-beater but the Demon Deacons are a steady-eddy team that takes care of the ball and plays smartly. Meanwhile, Louisville is an overhyped 3-7 team that just had its two best offensive weapons opt-out. Take the road underdog and prosper.
1. Navy vs. Army – Under 37.5
Frankly, this was a number that should’ve been gotten earlier if you wanted it. The total for the Army-Navy game opened in the 40s, which is a smash spot for the betting market. Because when service academies play, the under is always the best bet.
In the last 46 meetings between service academies, unders have hit 36 times and pushed once. Now, 37.5 is a low, low number. But even then, the Army-Navy game would’ve hit the under on that total in four of the last eight years. With the Midshipmen’s challenged offense, I’m still willing to be the under here.
