2020 NFL power rankings, Week 15: Chiefs, Packers win division titles
It’s been a disastrous season for Kyle Shanahan’s club, which lost its eighth game of the year one season after finishing 13-3 and reaching the Super Bowl. For the second time in seven games, the 49ers were home…at Arizona.
And once again, the club came up short – this time despite giving up only 193 total yards to Washington. San Francisco had two of its three turnovers returned for TDs and were the only NFC West team to lose in Week 14.
Matt Nagy’s club was home for the second consecutive Sunday and took on the disappointing Texans. The Bears were determined to end their six-game losing streak and opened up a 30-7 halftime lead and then coasted to the victory.
Mitch Trubisky overcame three sacks and would throw for 267 yards and three touchdowns while David Montgomery ran for 113 yards, 80 of those on a first-quarter scoring run. Nagy’s offense totaled 410 yards.
It was no contest on Thursday night at Los Angeles as Bill Belichick’s club was physically overwhelmed by the Rams. New England’s defense surrendered 186 yards on the ground while the Patriots were limited to a field goal and 220 total yards.
Cam Newton and Jarrett Stidham were sacked a combined six times. The club will have to win their final three games to secure a 20th consecutive winning season and tie the NFL record (Cowboys from 1966-85).
