Let’s get right to the point with this option. Tyler Higbee is 100 percent a boom or bust candidate this week. Simply put, this start will either return a lot or a little. So, operate wisely when pondering the potential claim of this tight end.

The Los Angeles Rams host the New York Jets this week, which bodes well for the team’s tight ends. Why so? New York has been one of, if not the worst pass defense against opposing tight ends this season.

Higbee’s production always seems to carry high potential due to the offense he plays in with the Rams. With all the run and play action that is used, Higbee slips free and goes under the radar to some defenses as coordinators focus on containing other skill position players on the team.

There may be a slew of people who drop Higbee after Week 14. In the team’s win against the New England Patriots, he was lightly used for just two catches on 34 yards. He was targeted twice.

However, the Rams ran the ball effectively all game, which meant there was no need to look for chunk plays through the air. This week against the Jets, the Rams may score a lot. Yes, players like Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods will take targets. Although, Jared Goff appears to like throwing to Higbee on big downs near the end zone.

In Week 2, Higbee hauled in five catches on five targets for 54 yards and three scores. In Week 13, he had another touchdown with 24 yards. He does not get a high volume of yards usually, but if he snags a couple of touchdowns with around 40-50 yards from the tight end spot, you will be smiling.
