Daniel Jones could miss his second game in three weeks for the New York Giants.
The New York Giants might be without starting quarterback Daniel Jones yet again.
New York may be a game back of the Washington Football Team for the NFC East lead at 5-8 on the year, but the Giants have played quality ball in the second half of their season. Though they stunned the Seattle Seahawks on the road two weeks ago, that was with Colt McCoy filling in for an injured Jones, who was battling a hamstring issue. Now, he is dealing with another foot injury.

Judge says Jones’ hamstring is no worse for wear, though, so Giants’ coach says he will treat this week like last: move Jones around on the practice field some during the week and judge if he can protect himself. Judge hasn’t made decision on Jones one way or another for Sunday.

It is Jones’ lower left leg, Judge says

Do the Giants have any hope to beat the Browns at home without Jones?
According to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, Jones’ injury this time around is unrelated to the hamstring that kept him out of the Seahawks game. Many suspect this one is his ankle, given head coach Joe Judge’s description of it being Jones’ lower left leg that is in question. Though he will turn the ball over, Jones offers a level of dynamism at the quarterback position McCoy cannot.
With this game being flexed into primetime as Week 15’s rendition of Sunday Night Football on NBC, this should be ample time for Judge and the Giants medical staff to get all the information they will need about if Jones can start or not. Though Baker Mayfield is playing very well for the Cleveland Browns now, Jones will at least not have the Giants competing at a quarterback deficit.
Do the Giants have a shot at winning this game? Yes, because this is the same team that went on the road with a backup quarterback to beat Russell Wilson. Of course, it would take the same type of defensive struggle for the G-Men to upend the Browns, regardless of who starts at quarterback for the Giants. Either way, seeing Jones this banged up does not bode well for New York at all.
Look for New York to hold Jones’ status close to the chest, possibly until two hours before kickoff.
