Defense: New England Patriots $4,100

Things are weird in New England this season. Obviously, a lot of their struggles have to do with the Cam Newton-led offense. The Patriots have not been able to move the ball at all. As many players know, weird things happen when the Patriots go to Miami. However, they haven’t been to Miami since Tom Brady took his talents to the Sunshine State.

The Patriots don’t have the same defense as they had last season, but this is still a unit of playmakers. They have interceptions in eight of the last nine games. They’ve never had negative points in a game this season. The last time they played Miami, they put up 11 points. However, that was all the way back in Week 1 and Ryan Fitzpatrick was the quarterback at the time.

Bill Belichick is great at taking out the opponent’s biggest strength. That is the playmaking ability of Tua Tagovailoa. The Dolphins could be without Myles Gaskin and Devante Parker, the two best offensive weapons they have at the skill position. That would leave them with DeAndre Washington at running back and who knows at wide receiver. Mike Gesicki is also injured and could miss the game.

The Patriots could just get a ton of coverage sacks due to Tagovailoa’s aggravation trying to find an open receiver. That could also lead to bad turnovers, and bad turnovers sometimes turn into defensive touchdowns. This is a strange price for an important game on a defense that will likely come into this game motivated after some extra time off and a beating at the hands of Jared Goff.
