Here are grades for the Georgia football 2021 recruiting class as the Bulldogs try to continue building a National Championship contender in Athens.

The one thing that Georgia football knew Kirby Smart and his staff would be able to do when he took over as head coach was recruit. And the Bulldogs have been doing that at an extremely high level, including having the No. 1 overall class last year. So at the early signing period’s conclusion on Wednesday, they’re looking for more of the same.

Georgia made some big signings on Wednesday, Dec. 16, for the first National Signing Day, and the Bulldogs once again should have a top-five class in the country. But how does their class break down overall? We’re here to find out.

Breaking down the top players, the sleepers and more, let’s grade the Georgia football 2021 recruiting class. Note: All rankings are courtesy of the 247 Sports Composite.

Georgia football top 2021 commit on Early Signing Day: Xavian Sorey, OLB

Offensive tackle Armarius Mims and quarterback Brock Vandagriff are the two highest-rated recruits of Georgia’s class, but landing 5-star linebacker Xavian Sorey was huge for the Bulldogs. Not only do they have a strong legacy at the position, but Sorey has tremendous upside.

Though a bit undersized at 215 pounds, Sorey is a game-ready coverage player at the position right now. If he can develop as a downhill tackler and put some more bulk on his frame, he has first-round NFL Draft pick potential.

Strongest, weakest position groups of Georgia football 2021 class

Adding Sorey to a class that already includes 5-star outside linebacker Smael Mondon makes that position a clear strength. But the offensive line also got a big upgrade with Mims and 4-star Micah Morris heading to Athens.

As for the weaknesses of the class, Georgia has recently been crushing it with their wide receiver recruits but not so much in the 2021 group. They have no 5-or-4-star recruits incoming at the position, which means that’s a group the coaching staff will have to work hard developing.

Georgia football recruiting diamond in the rough: Adonai Mitchell, WR

Speaking of the wide receiver recruits, though, Adonai Mitchell is intriguing. At 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, he has an enticing frame and caught 11 touchdowns in the 2019 season in high school. If he can add some weight, he has top-tier potential on the outside, especially as a red-zone threat.

Where does Georgia football’s 2021 class rank?

The Bulldogs fall behind Alabama, who has the No. 1 overall class in the country, in terms of their SEC standing. However, Georgia remains in a strong position overall as they have the No. 3-ranked recruiting class in the nation.

Georgia football 2021 recruiting grade: A

While it may not be the No. 1 class in college football, Georgia is still doing well. The talent is going to keep pouring in under Smart’s watch.
