The only thing that will make USC football fans happy is if Clay Helton gets fired for Christmas.

USC football fans have been through enough the last decade and want head coach Clay Helton fired after the Trojans fell to Oregon in the Pac-12 Championship Game.

The No. 13 Trojans were 5-0 and had the slightest of hopes of making the College Football Playoff for the first time. Too bad they lost by seven points at home to a team that could not even win its own division. Oregon did not even throw for 200 yards and upset USC on Friday and Trojans fans unleashed their frustration on Twitter.

USC fans want no presents for Christmas this year other than Helton being fired

Friday night illustrated Oregon is still the class of the Pac-12 and USC is still trying to get over that great big hill of hope.

If this were a normal college football season, Oregon would have been the easy favorite to win the Pac-12. Unfortunately for USC, the Ducks are not going away any time soon under head coach Mario Cristobal. He has this thing humming.

Helton’s buyout may make him immune to being fired, but if the right USC booster wants to cough of eight figures and give their university a football team it can be proud of again, then I guess you cannot put a price on relative happiness, now can you?

If USC were to have the stones to fire Helton in the midst of a global pandemic, the Trojans might be able to land someone good who can help them win gotta-have-it games like the one they just lost. This is a job that might be enticing enough to get Urban Meyer off the FOX studio set and back onto the sidelines.
