FOX cameras might have picked up audio of Justin Jefferson calling out Kirk Cousins after a horrible throw.

Justin Jefferson is the best rookie receiver in football, but it sounds like it might have taken less than a season for him to get sick of Kirk Cousins.

Kirk Cousins is one of the reasons many believe Stefon Diggs grew so tired of the Vikings’ offense that he demanded a trade. That’s since been sort of debunked by Diggs but the struggles of Cousins and its effect on his receivers is as clear as day.

After a horrible throw to Jefferson that sailed out of the back of the endzone, FOX cameras may have picked up audio of the rookie calling out his veteran quarterback.

Maybe it was Jefferson, maybe it wasn’t — and maybe it wasn’t as bad as we think it sounds. You be the judge:

Even if this is Jefferson yelling at Cousins, it might not be as bad as it sounds. On paper, a receiver calling out his quarterback is not a good look for a team but consider the competitive pressure everyone is under. Remember all those times Tom Brady and Josh McDaniels screamed at each other? How about when Dez Bryant would launch into tirades on the Cowboys sideline? None of those occasions led to anyone involved truly harboring ill-feelings towards anyone they were ranting at, rather it was just the heat of battle serving as a lens that amplified emotions.

Of course, in each of those scenarios, competent professionals were involved. Kirk Cousins being called out for not being good enough to take the Vikings to the next level is not a new conversation anyone in Minnesota is having.
