It was a tale of two halves on Saturday night at Lambeau Field but the Packers made it four straight wins as they held off a Panthers’ club that made a game of it after a rough first half. Sacked just 13 times in the team’s first 13 contests, Aaron Rodgers was dumped five times by Carolina defenders. Early on, Matt LaFleur’s club made it look easy via a 21-3 second-quarter lead but wound up holding on for dear life against Matt Rhule’s determined team.

The AFC East leaders needed a win to capture its first division title since 1995 and Sean McDermott’s club would make easy work of the host Broncos on Saturday. Third-year quarterback Josh Allen had another huge game, throwing for 359 and two scores and running for 33 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Buffalo’s offense rolled up an imposing 534 total yards while Leslie Frazier’s defense held Denver’s attack in check to the tune of 255 yards.

The AFC West champions took their eight-game winning streak to the Superdome to face the Saints in a battle of first-place teams. Andy Reid’s team scored a touchdown in each quarter, owned a 14-0 second-quarter advantage and then watched New Orleans score 15 straight points. Eventually, Patrick Mahomes and the offense really found their groove. The Chiefs ran for 179 yards and the young field general (sacked four times) threw three TD passes.
