Tom Brady threw some amazing shade at Tony Dungy after he felt slighted by the former Colts coach.

Tony Dungy appeared on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast this week and got on the topic of the toughest quarterbacks to coach against. Most NFL fans may assume he would put Tom Brady atop that list based on personal experience.

But no, Dungy rattled off several names and had Brady out of the top-five. Such a soundbite was destined to go viral, and it did make waves on social media Tuesday evening. Brady must have been alerted to Dungy’s comments, because he came out firing with some shade that has to be seen.

This is Twitter gold. For those unaware, the Indianapolis Colts have a banner that reads “2014 AFC Finalist.” That, of course, was the infamous “Deflategate” game that saw the New England Patriots blowout the Colts in the 2014 AFC Championship.

Dungy coached the Colts from 2002-08 and was eliminated by Brady in the postseason in 2003 and 2004. He was not around for the 2014 blowout loss, but Brady picked the best possible picture to make fun of a team he dominated throughout his career. The only time he slipped up was when Dungy and the Colts went to the Super Bowl after beating Brady and the Patriots in the 2006 AFC title game by a final of 38-34.

Brady’s response was perfect, even if Colts fans are bitter. He didn’t feel the need to have any sort of defensive response. All he did was share a picture that is rightfully mocked from time to time. It is not even a meme. Just a real picture from Lucas Oil Stadium. That is why it’s so hilarious.

Banners are supposed to represent major moments in franchise history. The Colts already had a Super Bowl banner before deciding upon the Finalist one as well. They got roasted at the time, and Brady sharing the image is fair game.
