Jayson Tatum brought the Boston Celtics a season-opening win with an amazing shot to put his team ahead late.

The Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks gave NBA fans an amazing finish Wednesday night in their season opener. Jayson Tatum heads home the hero, while Giannis Antentokounmpo is the goat.

Tatum is the hero because of his late 3-pointer that gave the Celtics a two-point lead with under a second remaining. The bank was open at the TD Garden and Tatum took advantage.

Jayson Tatum scores enough to hold off Giannis

The drama in the final second of this game was enough to get fans talking for days. Tatum’s shot went through with 0.4 seconds remaining, and the Bucks had to draw up a play at the rim.

Then came a loose ball foul on Tristian Thompson at the rim. Disaster was averted when it was deemed to come on the floor. That still sent Giannis Antetokounmpo to the line and he hit the first.

It was officially time for a clutch make to tie, but the MVP missed the second free throw, creating a ton of storylines with that one misfire.

Both Tatum and Antentokounmpo reached the 30-point mark on the night, and both of these teams look like real contenders once again. That was to be expected, and one miss from last year’s MVP isn’t going to derail his season.

The bank being open for Tatum was a great start to the season for a Celtics team looking to reach the NBA Finals for the first time since 2010. Giannis will be just fine, even if his misses will provide a jolt to NBA Twitter to start the season.
